Ozobot is a tiny optical robot that can follow color-coded instructions, given by students, and execute them on surfaces, from paper to tablet screens. Performing different movements in response to code, Ozobot works like a board game counter that moves by itself.
The Ozobot is about the size of a ping-pong ball and uses sensors to follow lines on the surface it's put on – whether on paper or on a tablet screen. It can also roam around freely. The Ozobot Bit detects colors and reacts to them, making it possible to program your Ozobot to carry out specific movements when it encounters visual color codes and electrifying introductory activities in robotics!
The Ozobot can memorize up to 500 different codes at once and the newest version, the Ozobot Bit, can be programmed to react using the OzoBlockly code editor. When the Ozobot Bit comes across a color code on the surface it crosses, it could spin, move in different directions, slow down, speed up or even dance - depending on how kids want to program it! Use special color code markers to create codes for your Ozobot on paper and watch it react according to your program. The makers of Ozobot also produce a construction accesory kit that allows you to turn Ozobot into a mini-forklift or bulldozer and a bugs accessory kit that lets you transform your Ozobots into creepy-crawlies.
